--latest should default to 1

Detailed description
Hello, --latest now takes an integer argument, which breaks existing scripts that used to call --latest
without an integer argument. Please default to 1 when no integer argument is given, this way the
extension is conservative (that is, it does not break invocations that worked before).

It seems that implementing this is made impossible by dose3 using the OptParse module. It seems that while this module allows one to specify a default for an option, there is no way to either distinguish between "value has been given on the command line" and "value was not given and hence the default is used". It also seems impossible to specify an option that optionally takes an argument.
