RE: Solve with L or L^T (and multiply with L) in parallel [ Reply ]

Hi, this functionality is a new one, so it was not present in previous versions. In the version that Theophile provided (pastix_release_43d7d03) to me, I had only tested the sequential algorithm who was fine. Recently I have written a test for the distributed version, and neither this version of Pastix (nor the latest Pastix version) passed this test.

Thank you Marc for this bug report.
We will investigate the problem, can you tell us is the functionality was working with the previous release of PaStiX 5.2.2 ?
Regards,
Pierre.

Hi,
I have noticed that the functionality of solving or multiplying by L (L is the Cholesky factor when we write A = L L^T) is working find in sequential. But in parallel it is no longer the case. For example if you solve by L (API_SOLVE_BACKWARD_ONLY), the involved operator is not the transpose of the operator involved when solving by L^T (API_SOLVE_FORWARD_ONLY). For the product, you have the same kind of problem, in the case of product, sometimes I got a segmentation fault. I used the last version of Pastix (5.2.3).
Best regards
